Do you think that realism has already reached PC with the Unreal Engine 5?

The graphics in the last few years have increased a lot but there has always been room for improvement in the graphics. This can be seen in Nvidia, who practically year after year, have shown new series of their graphics that in some cases have been twice as powerful as their predecessors.

Graphics fans (like me) have been on the lookout for the new Unreal engine. That Unreal Engine 5 means a huge leap in power, as we could see in the graphics test when they presented this engine.

As expected, Fortnite will be one of the first titles to adopt this new engine, but we know that it will not take full advantage of it. But, it has been rumored that a new studio plans to launch a Battle Royale developed entirely in the Unreal Engine 5 that will be called “Off The Grid”.

The Unreal Engine 4, despite being many years old, had set the bar very high, but with the demo of The Matrix Awakens, the Unreal Engine 5 is crazy. Do you think that realism has finally arrived to PC videogames? Since it is the platform that can have more graphic power; or is there still a lot to see in the future?

I’ve seen a few videos where Skyrim’s locations are remade with UE5 and I haven’t seen anything as realistic as that. But I wouldn’t exactly say that PC gaming has reached ultimate realism with this engine, there may be room for further improvements. However, I can’t even begin to imagine how good a game will look with more graphical power than UE5. In any case, I eagerly look forward to seeing how this engine pushes the graphics of a video game to the limit. Those games will need a beast of a PC to run them though.
