Anyone else played MGS 2 when they were really young?
I was about 12 or 13 when I played it and beat it in almost 2 days. My child brain wasn’t ready for the massive amount of data that was being thrown at me, nor did I understand all of it. Maybe I still don’t to this very day.
Anyway, you play as Snake (SPOILERS! Maybe?), who then proceeds to die, drowned by Revolver Ocelot’s hand, who just hijacked a Metal Gear and destroys the tanker that you just infiltrated.
And then, for most of the game, you play as Raiden, who proceeds to uncover one of the most 4th wall breaking and prophetic plots that I’ve seen in a videogame.
You just can’t go wrong with a MGS, but let me tell you, without spoiling you further, I strongly encourage you to give this game a go. You will not regret it.
Is this game playable on PC? Emulation or anything? I only own a PC but I really wanna play this franchise. I’ve immensely enjoyed The Phantom Pain. It would be marvellous if I could play every other previous Metal Gear game on PC. I’ve heard really good things about the franchise.
Do you know any other games that are similar to MGS which can be played on PC?
I think in this day and age, you can pretty much emulate anything on a computer. I’m sure if you look into it, you can find a way, but I would recommend using a controller to plug into your PC, as this is way more optimal when playing console games on a computer, as mapping the buttons from a controller to a keyboard and mouse is kind of messy.
As for similar games, there is a small indie game called “UnMetal”, which took direct inspiration from the first NES and Super Famicom Metal Gear titles.

Thank you very much! I should check this out when I have time. I should try MGS 1 as well, so I can play it in order. I’ve emulated God Of War 1 and 2 before so I have some experience regarding the subject. Looking forward to playing the MGS series.
